Hours: Full‑time, Monday – Friday
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 + study support (if required)

The position has become available due to the continued growth of the organisation within the Northeast region, making this an exciting time to join the Ashcourt Group as we expand our operational footprint and strengthen our finance team.

We’re looking for a proactive and detail‑driven Assistant Management Accountant to support our finance function across multiple operational divisions, including landfill, quarrying, concrete production and fleet. If you enjoy producing accurate, meaningful MI and partnering with operational teams to understand performance, this is a great opportunity to develop and grow.

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you’ll be analytical, commercial and detail‑driven. We’re looking for a strong communicator who can integrate into our growing finance team and collaborate confidently with wider operational functions.

What you’ll do

Assist with the preparation of timely monthly management accounts across multiple divisions and sites
Support cost analysis, margin reviews and variance investigations across various operations
Help develop and maintain KPIs and management information
Perform balance sheet reconciliations
Support accruals, prepayments and provisions
Assist with month‑end close and maintain clear audit trails
Help improve financial processes and reporting structures
Contribute to standardising reporting and improving data accuracy
Assist with process documentation
Support finance projects and cross‑functional initiatives
What you’ll bring

Full UK driving licence
Studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a related industry but not essential
Strong understanding of management accounting controls
Desirable: experience within a multi‑site organisation; experience in a changeable or evolving environment
Strong IT knowledge, particularly Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
Confident with ERP/accounting systems and reporting tools
