Summary
Chassisclean.co.uk Workshop Welder – Automotive Restoration & Fabrication
We are expanding and looking for a competent automotive welder to join our busy restoration and underbody protection workshop.
This role is hands-on, practical welding as part of a wider vehicle restoration workflow. You’ll be working on classics, performance cars and everyday vehicles carrying out structural and repair welding as required.
The Role
Automotive MIG welding (structural and repair work)
Sill repairs, chassis sections, brackets and fabrication
Assisting with strip-down and refit where required
Working as part of a small, productive team
Helping keep jobs moving efficiently through the workshop
This is not production-line fabrication — it’s varied, real-world vehicle work.
Pay Structure
Basic Pay: National Minimum Wage
Team Performance Bonus: Paid monthly once workshop output exceeds target
Welding Bonus: 10% paid on all welding work completed
Realistic earnings once up to speed:
£30,000 – £38,000+ OTE uncapped, depending on output and welding workload.
Bonuses are only paid on completed, invoiced work — quality matters.
What We’re Looking For
Confident MIG welding experience (automotive preferred)
Ability to fabricate and repair structural sections
Pride in doing work properly — not rushed patching
Reliable, team-focused attitude
Formal qualifications are useful but practical ability matters more.
Hours
Full-time, Monday–Friday
Overtime available by agreement
Why Join Us
Specialist restoration and corrosion work
Clear, fair bonus structure
Growing business with long-term opportunity
Earn more by producing quality work — not clock-watching
To apply, send a short message outlining your welding experience and background.
