Job Overview
We are currently recruiting a Homeless & Housing Solutions Officer to support a local authority housing service due to additional workload pressures. This is a full-time agency assignment supporting households at risk of homelessness and those requiring housing advice and intervention.
The role involves working directly with customers to prevent homelessness, assess housing needs, and deliver practical housing solutions in line with legislation and council policy.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess homelessness applications and housing needs
• Provide advice and support to prevent homelessness
• Manage a caseload of customers under homelessness legislation
• Complete housing assessments, personal housing plans, and decisions
• Liaise with internal teams, landlords, and external agencies
• Maintain accurate case records and documentation
• Ensure compliance with housing legislation and council procedures
Requirements
• Experience working within homelessness, housing options, or local authority housing services
• Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and safeguarding responsibilities
• Ability to manage complex caseloads and work under pressure
• Excellent communication, case management, and decision-making skills
• Basic DBS clearance required
• Right to work in the UK
