Crynodeb

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 5 staff nurse to join our team on the Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) and Older Persons Assessment Unit (OPAU).

AAU is a busy 29 bedded unit, we have 13 monitored beds and see a wide range of complex acute conditions on the unit that include caring for level 2 patients (NIV and Tracheostomy). OPAU is a 20 bedded acute fraility assessment unit. The unit caters for patients aged 65 and above with acute conditions.

As part of your role as a staff nurse, you will be expected to work and rotate between both areas. You will be working closely with our fellow staff nurses, junior sisters and be supported by our practice development nurses (PDN).

AAU and OPAU have their own dedicated practice development nurses who support staff in their development and work closely with new starters. Training will be given and there is an opportunity for staff to develop professionally to their full potential.

The band 5 nurse will be expected to provide direct patient care to enhance the well-being and promote the health of patients in AAU and OPAU. The nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate priorities of care.

The post will be based at Whipps Cross Hospital which is located in Leytonstone, East London, a vibrant area known for its rich diversity and culture. Situated just a 15-minute tube journey from Central London and the West End, it offers easy access to some of the best attractions and amenities London has to offer. The area also boasts Westfield shopping centre and the iconic Olympic Village, as well as the natural beauty of Epping Forest nearby, perfect for outdoor activities and relaxation. We have a wide range of benefits available to staff including the on-site Tomswood Health and Wellbeing Centre which offers a variety of fitness classes, including Zumba and Pilates, promoting physical and mental health.

If you're passionate and motivated to deliver high-quality patient care and want to make a difference in a hospital undergoing significant change, we'd love to hear from you.
