A specialist and growing Lloyd's Managing General Agent (MGA) is seeking a Marine Cargo Claims Adjuster to join its highly respected claims function. With a strong reputation in the London market, this MGA offers the opportunity to work closely with senior underwriters, brokers and external partners while developing specialist expertise across a diverse Marine Cargo portfolio.
Your new role
As a Marine Cargo Claims Adjuster, you will manage a broad range of Marine Cargo claims from first notification through to settlement. You will review documentation, assess liability, appoint and manage third‑party experts, and ensure claims are handled in accordance with Lloyd's and internal guidelines.
The role involves regular liaison with brokers, underwriters, surveyors and TPAs, along with maintaining accurate claims records and contributing to internal reporting. You will also support continuous improvement by contributing to the development of claims processes and ensuring all activity aligns with regulatory and Lloyd's requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should have between two and three years of Marine Cargo claims experience gained within a Lloyd's syndicate, MGA, insurer or broker.
You will bring strong technical understanding of Marine Cargo risks and policy wordings, along with excellent communication, analytical and negotiation skills. A proactive approach, good attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team are essential.
