Summary


Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to employ an enthusiastic Consultant Paediatrician with expertise in Neurodiversity in community child health, to join andsupport the development, implementation and establishment of a pilot service to test a new neurodiversity (ND) service model for children and young people (CYP) across several Southeast London (SEL) boroughs. This is initially a 12-month pilot, with the potential to extend to 18mths.



Main base:to be confirmed; sites base likely to be within Bexley with outreach clinics in Greenwich and one other borough
DUTIES OF THE POST:The consultant will provide a high level of clinical expertise and leadership, both for the team forwhich they are responsible and in borough-wide services.

1. To provide neurodiversity assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children and young people. The Consultant has overall responsibility for their own caseload, which will include children and young people across the three boroughs within the pilot.
1. To supervise and teach non-Consultant grade doctors, including GP with extended roles (GPweR).
1. Provide clinical input to multi-disciplinary clinics for the assessment of children with complex neurodiversity presentations. These assessments include a rising caseload of children with ASD and ADHD that require assessment and further management.
1. To hold clinical responsibility for the care of children with complex neurodisability seen with in the hub and provide medical advice to local authority children’s services according to statutory legislation and guidance for Looked After Children.
