Summary

Experienced Fire Alarm Installer & Commissioning Engineer

Southern UK (the engineer must be based in South Cambridgeshire, North Hertfordshire, or East Bedfordshire)

Full Time, Monday–Friday 8:00–16:30 + Required Overtime & On-call (approx. 1 in 6)

£33,000 – £37,000 basic, Realistic OTE up to £50,000

Our client is a leading provider of fire and security solutions, trusted for their technical expertise, reliability, and commitment to keeping people and property safe. They are expanding their team and are looking for an Experienced Fire Alarm Installer & Commissioning Engineer to work on a wide range of commercial and residential projects across the Southern UK.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role, perfect for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and enjoys problem-solving on-site.

Please note: You must be willing and able to work regular overtime, some weekends, and occasional stay-away assignments.

Are you the right person for the job?

• Proven experience installing and commissioning fire alarm systems, including analogue addressable systems
• Strong working knowledge of BS 5839 Part 1 & Part 6
• Experience in both commercial and residential environments
• Confident in fault-finding, diagnostics, and system maintenance
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• ECS Fire Alarm Technical Card
• Full UK driving licence

What will your role look like?

You’ll be responsible for:

• Installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining fire alarm systems, including analogue addressable systems
• Carrying out fault-finding, diagnostics, and system troubleshooting
• Ensuring all work complies with BS 5839 Parts 1 & 6 and current fire safety standards
• Completing accurate commissioning certificates, service reports, and site documentation
• Providing technical advice and guidance to clients
• Liaising with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery
• Keeping up to date with industry standards, legislation, and best practices
