What you'll do…

Act as a technical data lead within Engagement platform

Work with various engineering teams to deliver group level data programs

Propose and coach teams to follow industry best practices as well as help them align to the group's data strategy

Create data strategy along with other data architects and help engineering teams implement them in individual labs
-
Work with various engineering teams to deliver proof of concepts to create new cloud native data patterns for wider adoption

Own and continually improve upon our current data estate to simplify it and reduce cost in the process.

Be aware of financial industry level data classification and work with various business and technology teams to adopt them

Represent CS&E in various data forums

Run CS&E data working group along with lead architects, CTO, business function and other stakeholders

What you'll need:

Hands-on proven experience of delivering systems design, software development, testing and operational stability.

Proven experience and knowledge of automation and CI/CD
-
Proficiency in relevant programming languages, frameworks, and technologies, such as Python, PL/SQL
-
Experience in working with large-scale data sets, data pipelines, and cloud platforms, such as Google Cloud
-
Experience in using distributed systems and event driven architecture
-
Experience of containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure or AWS
-
Strong experience working with Kafka technologies

Experience in running Data architecture working groups where deliveries are happening external to immediate team
And any experience of these would be really useful:

Certification in GCP "Cloud Architect", "Cloud Developer", "Professional Data Engineer"

Experience in data analysis

Experience in data modelling

Experience in data estate and technology simplification

Proficiency across the data lifecycle management

Experience of hiring and recognising and emerging talent

Knowledge of Agile and SAFE principles
