About the Role
We’re recruiting for a Shift Supervisor to join our friendly and high-performing team at our Linford Block Plant. The site is conveniently located for candidates travelling from Tilbury, Gravesend, Rochester, Gillingham, Dartford, Purfleet on Thames, Grays, Wickford, Southend-on-Sea, Basildon, Brentwood, Billericay and surrounding areas.
At Linford, we manufacture sustainable, tough, and energy-efficient aerated blocks used across the UK in homes, workplaces and beyond. As Shift Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring safe and efficient plant operations while leading a team committed to delivering high-quality products.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Shift Supervisor, you will:
- Lead and coordinate the shift team, ensuring effective labour utilisation
- Support training and development across the team
- Manage contractors and engage with hauliers
- Prioritise workload and oversee safe plant operation
- Promote and uphold strong Health, Safety & Environmental (SHE) standards
- Complete and monitor operator preventative maintenance tasks
- Ensure high levels of housekeeping and mobile plant cleanliness
- Maintain accurate records including KPIs, site inspections, daily checks
- Participate actively in daily and weekly safety briefings
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with maintenance teams on day-to-day and shutdown activities
- Ensure products are manufactured efficiently and to high quality standards
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- Experience within a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of heavy plant and equipment
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 18001, 50001)
- Strong communication skills and good written and spoken English
- A proactive attitude, good timekeeping and flexible approach
- The ability to build strong working relationships across departments
