The Service is looking to recruit a Finance Officer to carry out in-person audits of the funding and give business support to childcare providers throughout the borough.

The postholder will also be required to support the Early Years and Childcare Team by providing knowledge and expertise in business and finance, to contribute to the development and dissemination of policies and procedures, guidance and information to facilitate the successful commissioning of early years and childcare services across a variety of partner organisations, including schools, day nurseries, pre-schools, out-of-school clubs and childminders.

The role will be responsible for undertaking routine visits and investigations with partner organisations, to ensure contractual and statutory requirements are fulfilled satisfactorily and funds provided by the Council are administered effectively. This is a people-facing role requiring regular travel to providers throughout Calderdale. The service is looking to recruit a highly motivated individual with strong people skills, the ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and utilise a variety of IT based systems and packages.
