If so, we’d love to hear from you! United Response is looking for experienced, enthusiastic individuals to join our ROC College education team as Internal Quality Assurers (IQA) in Plymouth.

LOCATION: Plymouth
FUNCTION: ROC College
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Deputy Head Quality and Improvement
ACCOUNTABLE FOR: Supporting staff and maintaining quality assurance standards within ROC College
HOURS: 37.5 hours per week, Full Time
SALARY: Up to £29,956.10 FTE Pro Rata

Who We Are

United Response is a registered charity, founded in 1973. Our mission is to ensure that individuals with learning disabilities, mental, or physical support needs have the opportunity to live life to the fullest. We support around 2,000 people across more than 300 locations in England and Wales, with over 3,600 staff members.

ROC College, a part of United Response, is a specialist college providing person-centred, community-based teaching and learning within Cornwall, Devon, and Somerset. We work with young people aged 16-25 with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an organised and experienced IQA to ensure the highest standards in teaching, learning, and assessment at ROC College. You should have experience in quality assurance, internal verification, and supporting teaching staff, with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in post-16 education and assessment processes
  • Knowledge of Ofsted standards and quality assurance cycles
  • Ability to monitor and evaluate staff performance and student progression
  • Experience delivering training, advice, and support to assessors
  • Strong organisational skills, self-motivation, and ability to prioritise effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and support colleagues in achieving high standards

A teaching qualification (Level 3 or above) and experience in SEND or supporting students with learning disabilities is highly desirable.

What to Expect

As an IQA at ROC College, you will:

  • Oversee the internal verification of accredited learning and assessment practices
  • Support assessors with training, guidance, and professional development
  • Schedule assessments and monitor adherence to quality assurance processes
  • Lead standardisation activities and ensure consistency in assessment decisions
  • Maintain accurate records of verification activities and contribute to quality reports
  • Support the Head of College in programme approval and development
  • Act as an ambassador for ROC College, promoting high standards and good practice
