Summary

Job Title: Personal Assistant Part-Time
Hours available 3/6 Hours per Week
Wage: £15 per hour
to be worked flexibly.

Introduction
I am young at heart lady with some sight-impairment, I am looking for a reliable, practical, and friendly person to provide support for a few hours each week. The right person will help me stay safe, while continuing to enjoy everyday activities and creative projects, and give me a little bit of my independence back.

The support may include:
• Support in my Garden – helping me move around safely outdoors and assisting me with practical gardening, making being outside an enjoyable experience.
• Support with Technology – helping me understand and use my iMac computer.
• Local outings of my choosing – accompanying me on short local visits. Sometimes with purpose and sometimes just to escape to some tranquillity to enjoy my surroundings
• Support me with practical and creative activities – I enjoy making things such as clothing, knitting, curtains, shelves, and other household items. I need someone to support me to do this safely, help with materials, and work alongside me.
• To carry out any other reasonable requests that the service user may make from time to time.

An important part of the role is being able to converse naturally, sometimes describe what is happening, and explain things clearly so the experience is enjoyable, engaging, and confidence-building.
About you:
• Friendly, patient, and a good conversationalist
• Able to clearly describe surroundings and activities in a non-overbearing way.
• Practical and comfortable with hands-on tasks
• Safety-aware without taking over
• Flexible with working times
• Good sense of humour .
• Encouraging and respectful of independence
• Car owner with a full driving licence and business insurance
This role would suit someone either experienced or returning to work around young family commitments, who enjoys one-to-one work, values creativity, and understands the importance of making activities both safe and fun.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
