Summary
Our client Scottish Power are currently recruiting for a Asset Data Business Analyst to join their team based in Glasgow on a contract basis initially. Ideally for this role they are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with a background in SAP. For more information on this role see below:
Job Purpose Statement
As a Business Analyst within Network Planning & Regulation (NP&R) your primary responsibility is to ensure that the business is informed, engaged, and prepared for the deployment of new systems and applications.
You will work as part of a cross-functional teams to deliver requirements and process engineering activity, providing users with a platform to contribute to the change and champion their perspective throughout the technical development, testing and implementation of the new SAP system.

Project Delivery
• Timeliness: Ensure that project deliverables are completed on schedule, meeting all critical milestones and deadlines.
• Quality Assurance: Guarantee the quality of project deliverables, ensuring they meet both business and technical standards.
• Programme Interface: facilitate communications and decision-making between the programme and the business.

• Risk Identification and Mitigation: Proactively identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
• Issue Resolution: Manage and resolve issues that arise during the project lifecycle, ensuring minimal impact on project progress.

• Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate clear and effective communication between project teams and stakeholders.
Change Management
• Change Control: Manage changes to project scope, ensuring they are documented, approved, and communicated effectively.
• Organisational Readiness: Ensure that NP&R colleagues are prepared for changes brought by SAP implementations, including training and support for end-users.
Compliance and Standards
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that SAP projects comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
• Adherence to Best Practices: Ensure projects follow best practices and methodologies, maintaining a high standard of delivery.
Dimensions
• Develops broad stakeholder relationships across NP&R, Network Data & Intelligence, and wider the SP Energy Networks organisation.
• Drive the engagement between NP&R and the SAP Programme with the support of the Project Manager.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Required:
Project Management:
• Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Risk management and mitigation strategies.
Business Analysis:
• Business, Technical and non-Functional Requirements Elicitation and Management.
• Process Engineering, considering Lean and other improvement methodologies.
• Identify and define problems and opportunities within existing processes and practices.
Technical Proficiency:
• Knowledge of SAP modules (e.g., SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW).
• Knowledge of SAP implementation and integration processes.
Leadership:
• Strategic analysis and critical thinking skills.
• Change management expertise.
Communication:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to negotiate and build a consensus from conflicting perspectives.

Minimum Criteria (mandatory)
Entry Qualification:
• Degree level qualification
• IIBA or BCS Business Analysis Qualifications would be beneficial
Specific:
• Agile tooling (Jira) / Agile & DevOps
Entry Experience:
• 5 years’ previous experience in Lead or Senior Business Analyst roles
• Proven experience in requirements engineering, including writing of user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Experience working on SAP implementation or upgrade projects, even in supporting roles, is essential.
Other:
SAP certifications are highly beneficial.
