Summary
Clinical Duties The HCA will undertake the following duties: Taking and recording physiological measurements: Blood pressure Pulse Temperature Height, weight, and BMI Phlebotomy ECG recording New patient health checks NHS Health Checks Wound care and dressings Removal of sutures and clips Urinalysis and preparation of samples Venepuncture and specimen handling Supporting chronic disease management clinics (e.g. diabetes, hypertension) as delegated Ear irrigation Immunisations (B12) Assisting clinicians during procedures as appropriate Stock Management & Supplies Monitoring and maintaining clinical stock levels to ensure adequate supplies at all times Ordering clinical and non-clinical supplies in line with practice procedures and agreed budgets Checking deliveries, rotating stock, and ensuring items are stored safely and appropriately Monitoring expiry dates and removing out-of-date stock promptly Reporting shortages, issues with supplies, or equipment faults to the appropriate lead Supporting cost-effective stock usage and minimising waste
