Summary

We are looking for a Careers Information Administrator to join the Royal Society of Chemistry. As part of the Accreditation and Careers team you will be key to delivering on our commitment to set and maintain professional standards and to support and connect practising chemists.

In this role, you will assist with the delivery of career management activities by supporting the team with its award-winning mentoring programme, tailored one-to-one consultations, online career information, monthly webinars, and insights into the employment and remuneration of people working within the sector.

In this role, you will:

Act as one of the initial points of contact for the Career Development Team email enquiries. Logging enquiry details and directing to the Career and Professional Development advisers as appropriate.

Support the team with regular tracking, reporting and reviewing of the services provided.

Assist with communications to promote career development activities including social media. Keep the RSC career development webpages up to date with topical information such as dates for forthcoming consultations, webinars and other activities.

Support and promote ChemCareers monthly webinars, ensuring recordings are edited and supplied with accurate transcripts for subtitles before making available to members.

Support the implementation of new career products for under 18s and members under the supervision of the Career Advice and Guidance Manager

Produce career information for under 18s and members under the supervision of the Career Advice and Guidance Manager

Support the production of career related information including Member Surveys.

Research and compile careers information and labour market information.

Undertake other tasks to support the Career Development team as required.

At the RSC we embrace flexibility and offer hybrid working, which means our teams come together when they need to collaborate. Although this role is contractually based at our Cambridge office, you will be able to work from home within the UK, with the expectation that you will attend the office as needed for your role.

In this role it is expected that you will attend the office monthly for a team meeting and as and when required for in-person meetings. If you need flexible working arrangements, please outline this in your application.

What we are looking for:

Essential:

Excellent organisational skills with experience in project and time management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritise work, and to meet deadlines under pressure.

Customer-focussed approach with excellent verbal and written skills.

Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of diverse teams.

Excellent IT skills and abilities.

Video editing skills including correcting captions

Web editing skills and experience in using content management systems

Experience writing for the web, with familiarity with digital media and technologies, including e-learning and social media.

A keen interest in science, scientists and the culture of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy and aware of issues of confidentiality and data protection.

Close attention to detail and high standards of excellence

Desirable:

A degree in chemical science

Online editorial skills
