Introduction to YSJ university

Situated in the heart of the historic city of York, and with roots dating back to 1841, York St John University has a long and proud tradition as a distinguished higher education provider. Our success is founded on the quality of academic teaching and research, our thriving campus environment, our professional and pastoral support, and our values of an inclusive, innovative and ambitious community with a strong sense of belonging.

The Team

The Accommodation Team manages the accommodation portfolio of circa 2000 beds which includes University owned sites, commuting rooms and partnerships with private providers across the city. This can range from providing advice at one of our Open Days on types of accommodation available, to resolving issues within flats for current students. The team consists of 5 members of staff and a team of Residential Support Assistants (current students living in University Accommodation)

The role is full time (37 hours per week) with some weekend work required to support Open Days, Visit Days and Student Arrival Weekend. A flexi time scheme is available.

Work will entail a variety of administrative tasks including responding to emails and phone calls, use of the accommodation management system, and use of social media to promote information to students.
