A friendly and inclusive primary school in Plymouth is looking to welcome a Primary SEN Support Assistant to join their team. This is a hands-on classroom role supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties, helping them feel confident, supported, and ready to learn.
This role is ideal if you enjoy working closely with children and want to make a genuine difference in their school experience.
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with EHCPs
- Supporting children during lessons, transitions, and structured activities
- Adapting learning tasks with guidance from the class teacher
- Encouraging communication, social interaction, and independence
- Observing, monitoring, and feeding back on pupil progress and behaviour
- Helping create a calm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Experience supporting children with SEN (in school, care, or informal settings)
- Patient, calm, and encouraging approach
- Confident communicator who works well as part of a team
- Passionate about inclusive education and supporting individual needs
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
