Summary
Deputy Head of English
MPS/UPS plus TLR | Start September 2026 or earlier for the right candidate
I am working closely with a forward-thinking secondary school in Redbridge, North East London, to appoint a Deputy Head of English who is ready to play a key role in shaping the future of an already strong department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious English specialist who wants real influence over curriculum, standards, and outcomes.
This role would suit an experienced teacher with at least three years of classroom experience, who is confident leading people as well as practice. You will work alongside the Head of English to drive consistency, support staff development, and ensure students across all key stages receive a rich and ambitious English education.
The school places a strong emphasis on professional development and values leaders who are visible, reflective, and collaborative. There is a genuine appetite for new ideas, whether that is curriculum innovation, improving literacy strategies, or developing enrichment opportunities.
