Love helping children thrive, one small win at a time?

This could be the role for you.

Thrive Recruitment Group is working alongside a welcoming specialist school in Plymouth, supporting children and young people aged 4-19 with severe learning difficulties. Due to a growing pupil cohort and increased 1:1 support needs, the school is now looking to welcome SEN Learning Support Assistants to their dedicated team.

This isn't just a classroom role - it's about building trust, confidence, and independence every single day.

What will your days look like?

No two days are the same, but you'll be:
- Supporting pupils with individual learning plans (IEPs) tailored to their needs
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and external professionals
- Encouraging communication, independence, and emotional regulation
- Providing personal care support where required
- Celebrating the small wins that mean the biggest things to our learners

You'll be a calm presence, a cheerleader, a listening ear - and sometimes the person who makes learning feel safe and fun again.

Who are we looking for?

You don't need to tick every box - personality and attitude matter most.
- Calm, patient, and resilient individuals
- A good sense of humour and plenty of empathy
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN
- A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, but not essential
(Happy to support you in working towards this during probation)

If you've worked in education, care, or support roles - or you're looking to take your first step into SEN - we'd love to hear from you.

What's in it for you?
- A thorough induction to help you feel confident from day one
- Ongoing training and professional development
- Clear opportunities to grow your career in SEN education
- A warm, supportive school environment where your work truly matters

Thrive Recruitment Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
