Summary
Functional Skills Tutor (Maths & English) - Start ASAP
Location: Havant, Hampshire
Schedule: Wednesdays - 3 hours per week
Learner: 14‑year‑old with primary need of ASD
We are seeking an experienced and patient Functional Skills Tutor to deliver 1:1 Maths and English sessions to a motivated 14‑year‑old learner with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of neurodiversity and be skilled in adapting teaching methods to suit the individual's learning style, interests and pace.
The tutor will provide structured, engaging and supportive sessions that build confidence, develop core skills, and promote independence. Experience working with young people with SEN-particularly ASD-is essential, and a calm, consistent and encouraging approach is key.
Requirements:
- Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths and English (Entry Level-Level 2)
- Strong background working with young people with ASD or other SEN
- Ability to tailor learning to individual needs and interests
- Reliable, consistent and able to start as soon as possible
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
