Job Description: Social care work opportunity for a Personal Assistant. Listed below are details of the job and what tasks are involved. It is advisable to refer to these when submitting your application and advise of the days/hours you are available.We are looking for a caring and reliable Personal Assistant to support a 16‑year‑old boy with complex health and mobility needs, providing his family with valuable respite. The role involves supporting him at home and out in the community during evenings and school holidays. He is non‑verbal, enjoys trains, and requires gentle, attentive support from someone who is patient and confident in providing personal care.Location: Norwich, NR5Details:- Personal care, including feeding and changing pads- Hoisting for transfers (training can be arranged)- Supporting him during community outings or activities he enjoys- Offering supervision and always ensuring his safety- Providing general assistance to help give the family some respitePersonal Specification:- Flexible and reliable- Experience working with children or young people- Knowledge or experience of epilepsy- Ability to use or willingness to learn how to use a hoist- Full clean driving licence to drive a mobility carSummary Terms and Conditions- The rate of pay for this position is £13.00 per hour- Hours and times of work as follows: Up to 12 hrs monthly, evenings and school holidays. Flexible, to discuss at interview stage.- The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.- Access to free Care Skills training for employed workers.The post is subject to the following:- A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.- Completion of a satisfactory probation period of 6 months.
