Summary

Transport Support Assistant - Crawley (Gatwick Area)

The Best Connection is recruiting a Transport Support Assistant on behalf of a global in-flight catering company, supporting airside operations at London Gatwick Airport (Crawley / Manor Royal).

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced operation within the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain industry. A full UK manual driving licence is required.

Pay: £14.76 per hour
Contract: Full-time, ongoing
Shifts: 5 on / 3 off (rotating)
Hours: Between 03:00 - 18:00 (day shifts only)
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities as a Transport Support Assistant

  • Conduct primary and vehicle security checks in line with CAA and DfT regulations

  • Support loading of in-flight catering and supplies onto delivery vehicles

  • Assist with aircraft catering and de-catering in line with flight schedules

  • Ensure accurate delivery of catering components according to galley plans

  • Load and unload airline trolleys and equipment, maintaining hygiene and safety standards

  • Transfer inbound catering from aircraft to washing and preparation areas

  • Operate equipment and safely lift/push loads of up to 50lbs

  • Comply with COSHH and HACCP standards at all times

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and operational efficiency

  • Provide support across departments as required

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 1 year's experience in catering, logistics, or aviation (preferred but not essential)

  • Strong team ethic with a proactive, can-do attitude

  • Reliable, committed, and flexible

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills

  • Strong customer service awareness

  • Full UK manual driving licence required
