Role Overview:

Strengthening family help is a key part of the programme, and as part of this we are creating a new Domestic Abuse Prevention Team led by this manager, and with 5 Prevention Officers each aligned to one of Oldham’s 5 districts. The team will offer advice and support to standard and medium risk victims of domestic abuse, deliver group-based courses for survivors and support other professionals to play their part in responding to concerns of domestic abuse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the team of Domestic Abuse Prevention Officers including allocation and supervision of work and oversight of performance;
- Providing advice, oversight and guidance for team members around support for victims of abuse and their children;
- To lead within the Service in developing work around preventing domestic abuse and supporting recovery;
Key Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:
- NVQ 4 in a related subject, such as Health & Social Care or substantial equivalent experience within the field of domestic abuse
- Significant experience of supporting individuals or families who have complex lives which may include; mental health, offending, substance misuse, domestic abuse and may be resistant to service involvement
- Significant experience of leading, managing and supporting the development of staff working with children, young people, families or vulnerable adults.
- Proven ability to facilitate sessions, workshops and briefings to audiences at all levels, ensuring complex issues are addressed in an accessible and appropriate manner.
