Summary
We’re looking for a kind, caring and proactive part-time Teaching Assistant to join our friendly village school. St Mary’s is a one-form entry primary with a strong community feel, motivated and eager children, and a genuinely supportive staff team (who also happen to love cake!).
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a well-resourced school with a lovely atmosphere, where your initiative and rapport with children will be truly valued.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has a pragmatic approach, a sense of initiative, and a warm, approachable manner.
Can build positive relationships with children across all age groups, especially in Key Stage 1.
Is able to support pupils in class and lead small group or individual interventions, including for children with SEND.
Is flexible, motivated, and ready to get stuck in to help move children’s learning forward.
Has experience working with children in a school setting (desirable but not essential).
Might have a hobby or talent they’d be happy to share through an after-school club (again, not essential—but we love a bit of extra sparkle!).
If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed—please contact the office to arrange. The Good Shepherd Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All employment practices reflect this priority. Appointments are subject to enhanced DBS clearance (Disclosure and Barring Service), satisfactory references, and verification of qualifications. Please note that we reserve the right to interview on application should a suitable candidate apply and we have the right to withdraw this advert prior to the closing date. You are therefore strongly encouraged to apply for the role as soon as possible.
