Summary
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a team of 21 Orthopaedic Consultants. The work includes a combination of elective operating, general trauma operating, elective outpatient and fracture clinics. The post will work within the Knee team. The Orthopaedic Service is housed in a Purpose-built unit including wards, theatres, outpatient and fracture clinics, a new Accident and Emergency Department, and an expanded Intensive Care Unit. There are 3 Trauma and Orthopaedic wards at Stepping Hill Hospital. Paediatric beds are on a dedicated paediatric surgical ward in a purpose built paediatric unit. Theatre provision is in two new theatre complexes, including the use of clean air laminar flow theatre for all trauma, elective and day case orthopaedic surgery. Stepping Hill Hospital is an associate teaching, busy District General Hospital with most major specialities. The Trust has an active Postgraduate Centre with a comprehensive programme of clinical meetings, seminars and excellent library and video conferencing facilities. If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary. In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
