Hope House Children’s Hospices have an opportunity for a Full time Physiotherapy Technical Instructor to join our team based in Oswestry. You will join us on a permanent basis, working full-time 37.5 hours per week, a typical week is Monday to Friday, with expectation to working flexibly on weekends and out of hours to meet the needs of the service. In return, our Physiotherapy Technical Instructor will receive a competitive rate of £28,118 to £29,929 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Physiotherapy Technical Instructor role:

To take part in the delivery of the therapy service across the organisation, ensuring holistic, child and family centred care, working using your own initiative and as a team player.

Participating as a member of the Hospice Care Team, you will be expected to follow therapy programmes under the direction of the Therapist and feedback outcomes, follow aqua therapy plans alongside the Therapist and independently, and you will actively be involved in the education, training and development of other care team members.

Being highly organised, you will communicate effectively and work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary colleagues to ensure a high quality of treatment for the children and their families. You will be flexible in your approach to work, able to travel in our local communities and to both hospices and will be required to work hours to meet the needs of the children and their families.

We are looking for a Physiotherapy Technical Instructor who:


Has A levels, and GCSE’s including grade C in English and Maths
NVQ Level 3 in Clinical Healthcare Support or equivalent (Desirable)
Has experience working in a hospital/nursing environment
Has knowledge of the needs of children and young people with life-limiting conditions and children’s palliative care
Is a confident swimmer and have or be able to complete ‘Shallow water evacuation training’
Able to work independently and effectively in a team
Has excellent communication skills, including the ability to do presentations
