We have an exciting opportunity for a Vocational Tutor (Hair & Beauty) to join Landau. This role offers more than a wage – it is about supporting young people who may have faced challenging circumstances to develop skills, confidence and positive futures.

You will deliver Hair & Beauty qualifications through small group and 1:1 teaching, creating tailored learner journeys and action plans that meet individual needs and learning styles. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will engage and motivate learners through enthusiastic, inclusive and high-quality vocational teaching.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, development and delivery of Hair & Beauty qualifications, including for learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
• Create and maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment in line with behaviour management, safeguarding and health & safety requirements
• Plan, deliver and assess learning activities that promote engagement, independence and progress
• Assess, record and report learner progress accurately
• Build effective relationships with learners, parents/carers and colleagues
• Support learners’ emotional resilience, confidence and self-esteem
• Prepare learner portfolios for external moderation and support examination processes, including invigilation
• Contribute to learner review meetings and progress discussions
• Support continuous improvement within the curriculum area and engage in CPD
• Lead sessions in the short term when required (e.g. tutor absence)
• Work in line with all Landau policies and procedures
• Establish effective working relationships, including attending meetings as required

Person Specification

Qualifications
• Subject specialist qualification (Hair & Beauty) – E
• Assessor qualification – D
• PTTLS / AET Level 3 – D
• Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office) – D

Experience
• Subject-specific industry experience (minimum 2 years) – D
• Experience working with EHCPs – D
• Knowledge of education inspection frameworks – D
• Understanding of awarding body compliance and quality assurance – D
• Pastoral support experience – D
• Awareness of supporting young people with mental health needs – D
