Summary

Purpose of post:
• To ensure all children in the nursery have all the same life chances, are able to meet their own potential and have equality of opportunities in their learning, development and care
• To give support to other team members throughout the nursery to support children’s additional needs
• To support the nursery management team with all aspects of supporting children with additional needs.
To assist the SENCO in:
• Helping the nursery team to support all the children in their care and meet individual needs
• Working with and supporting all team members with all aspects of special educational needs through training/mentoring/support mechanisms
• Ensuring the nursery is inclusive of all needs and requirements
• Building and maintaining strong partnerships with external agencies
• Supporting all team members with the early identification and intervention for children with possible additional needs / special needs and giving physical, emotional and intellectual guidance as appropriate.
