Location: Ystradgynlais Volunteer Centre – Ti a Fi Cafe
Hours: 35 hours

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Café Manager / Chef to oversee daily operations while leading our kitchen and front-of-house team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who loves food, people, and running a smooth, high-quality café.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing the café, maintaining high food and service standards, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and delivering excellent customer experience. You’ll balance leadership, kitchen responsibilities, stock management, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage daily café operations and team performance
• Prepare and oversee high-quality food and menu standards
• Lead, train, and motivate staff across kitchen and service
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards
• Maintain allergy awareness procedures and accurate allergen information
• Manage stock ordering, waste control, and supplier relations
• Handle rotas, staff scheduling, and performance review
• Deliver outstanding customer service and handle queries or complaint
• Drive sales, efficiency, and overall business growth
Essential Requirements
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain immediately)
• HACCP knowledge and practical experience
• Allergy training and strong allergen awareness
• Previous experience in a café, kitchen, or hospitality management role
• Strong leadership and organisational skills
• Passion for food quality, safety, and customer experience
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability, including weekends
