Summary

Our client, a leading provider of respite services in Bristol, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-time Child and Adult Respite Support Worker to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in need of respite care.

As a Part-time Child and Adult Respite Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, personalised support to children and adults with a variety of needs, including physical, emotional, and developmental challenges. Your duties will include assisting with daily living activities, engaging participants in enriching recreational and social activities, and offering a nurturing and safe environment for those in your care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised, compassionate care and support to children and adults with a range of needs, including physical, emotional, and developmental challenges
- Assist with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
- Engage participants in meaningful recreational, social, and educational activities that promote their well-being and independence
- Collaborate with the client's family members, healthcare providers, and other relevant professionals to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to care
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of participants' progress, needs, and any incidents or concerns
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being and safety of participants
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge

Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, providing respite or support services to children and/or adults with special needs
- A relevant qualification in social care, healthcare, or a related field (e.g. , NVQ, BTEC, or degree)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with a diverse range of individuals
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to the well-being and personal growth of the individuals in your care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain one
- A valid driver's licence is preferred, but not essential
