Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 2 (Year 5 ASD/ADHD Support)

- Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term to Perm​

Are you a confident and proactive Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with ASD and ADHD?

Long Term Futures is proud to be working with a welcoming and well-led primary school in OFSTED rated 'Good' school Nuneaton, who are seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a child in Year 5 with additional needs. This role will involve a mixture of 1:1 support, whole classroom assistance and helping the pupil to access learning in a structured and nurturing environment. The role is offered on a long-term basis with a potential to become permanent.

The Role
- Provide 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with ASD and ADHD, helping them to engage with learning
- Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and adapting activities where needed
- Support the child with focus, organisation and emotional regulation throughout the school day
- Use consistent strategies to encourage positive behaviour and build confidence
- Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy or social development
- Help maintain a calm, structured and inclusive classroom environment
- Work closely with teachers, SENCO and wider staff to meet individual learning needs
- Support progress monitoring and provide feedback to staff where appropriate


The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in Key Stage 2
- Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD or other SEND on a 1:1 basis
- A calm, patient and proactive approach to behaviour and emotional support
- Confidence delivering structured interventions and personalised learning support
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for helping children reach their full potential
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification (or equivalent)
