We are seeking a proactive and community-minded Learning Support Assistant to join a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) within a vibrant mainstream primary school in Croydon. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied day, balancing direct pupil support with the organisational tasks that keep a classroom running smoothly. You will be working closely with the class teacher to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the class teacher to provide tailored support to pupils within the SRP.
- Proactively identify where support is needed most, whether with individual pupils or small groups.
- Maintain and update children's folders and progress trackers accurately.
- Assist in the preparation of learning resources and classroom displays.
- Embrace the school's ethos by engaging with the wider community and participating in school events.
Essential Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
- A proactive "can-do" attitude and the ability to use your own initiative.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail when updating records.
- A genuine passion for primary education and community engagement.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
