Summary

Job Title: Safety Access Manager / Controller (Rail)

Location: Newcastle
Rate/Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Temp Contract for 1 week

Shifts are either nights or days, from Sunday 15th Feb (nights) or Monday 16th Feb (days) until the following Saturday.

6 shifts overall.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Safety Access Manager / Controller to work on a live railway site. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe planning, coordination, and control of site access, ensuring all works are carried out in full compliance with railway standards, procedures, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, manage, and control safe access to the railway infrastructure

  • Coordinate site access arrangements with relevant stakeholders

  • Ensure all personnel accessing the site hold valid competencies and authority

  • Brief site staff on access arrangements, hazards, and control measures

  • Monitor compliance with safety systems of work at all times

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to access control

  • Act as a key point of contact for access and safety-related matters on site

Essential Requirements
  • Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) - mandatory

  • Proven experience in a Safety Access Manager / Controller role within the rail industry

  • Strong knowledge of rail safety standards, procedures, and access planning

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to work under pressure in a live rail environment

  • Full right to work in the UK
