Research Nurse – Surgery
An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join our dedicated Research Team. This role provides the chance to contribute to the development of research across mu;ltiple surgical specailities including Breast surgery, while also offering support to research activities across the organisation.
The post will involve the delivery of multiple clinical research projects. With full training provided where required, this will encompass a wide range of responsibilities—from coordinating outpatient and inpatient visits to undertaking office-based duties such as data management, adherence to data protection protocols, and assisting in the planning and set-up of research studies.

Flexibility is essential, as the role may involve travel between sites and occasional unsociable hours.
• Coordinate and manage clinical research projects and trials primarily within Surgical specialities.
• Identify and recruit eligible participants in accordance with study protocols
• Facilitate the delivery of studies, including data collection and accurate documentation
• Provide holistic care to research participants, ensuring safety, dignity, and adherence to study requirements
• Maintain full compliance with ICH-GCP, Trust research governance, and all relevant legislation
• Support junior colleagues in the delivery and management of clinical trials
• Contribute to the planning, setup, and close-down phases of studies
• Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, study sponsors, and external partners
• Provide support to other research areas across the Trust as needed.
What We’re Looking For• Post-registration experience in an acute care environment
• Strong organisational and IT skills, including data entry and use of research databases
• Ability to work independently, manage a personal caseload, and prioritise workload
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skill
• Previous experience working in a clinical research setting would be beneficial.
