Summary

THIS POST COULD BE CONSIDERED AS A SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY

About the role
You will play a key role in growing and strengthening the Ashmolean Museum’s commercial offer for group visitors and the travel trade. Building on new funding, you will help develop a cohesive, commercially focused approach that maximises both visitor experience and income. You will work closely with colleagues across the Museum, including Marketing, Box Office, Visitor Experience, Public Programmes and Events, as well as with an external consultant, to design, coordinate and deliver high-quality group experiences.

You will act as the main point of contact for commercial group and travel trade enquiries, support the development of pricing and commission models, and contribute to monitoring performance through reporting and analysis. You will also represent the Museum professionally in trade contexts, including promotional activity and trade events, and share learning and best practice across the wider Gardens, Libraries and Museums (GLAM) division.

This is a part-time, fixed-term position, working 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE) for two and a half years. The role supports remote working for up to one day per week on average.

About You
You will have demonstrable experience of planning, developing and delivering high-quality group or visitor offers, ideally within a museum, heritage or visitor attraction environment. You will bring strong commercial awareness, with experience of contributing to income generation, pricing, budgeting or reporting against targets.

You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including external partners. You will be able to produce clear, accurate written materials and reports, and will demonstrate a strong commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and sustainability in your work.
