As a Travel Coordinator in our Defence Academy Operations team, you will play a key role within the Defence Academy Travel Department, delivering a high-quality, customer-focused travel service. The role operates within a busy environment requiring effective multitasking, accurate data handling, and proactive problem solving. Travel Coordinators support a wide range of Defence Academy customers and course leaders, often managing high volumes of UK and overseas travel requests. They uphold MOD and Serco standards, ensuring compliant, efficient and value-for-money travel solutions.

The Travel Coordinator is responsible for delivering accurate and timely travel arrangements for individual and group travel. This includes sourcing appropriate services within contract, reviewing itineraries, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with Defence Academy, MOD and Serco policies. The role requires strong organisational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within the wider Support Services team.
The post holder must balance multiple priorities, maintain audit-ready records, identify risks, and work with urgency and accuracy to meet customer expectations. They are required to consider sustainability, value for money, and operational risks when planning travel, supporting Serco’s ESG commitments.

What you’ll do as a Travel Coordinator
- Arrange accurate and timely UK and overseas travel for individuals and groups
- Provide clear, professional advice on travel entitlements and processes
- Coordinate itineraries, liaise with suppliers, and ensure all bookings meet policy requirements
- Maintain precise records and support budgeting, invoicing, and reporting
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the travel service
