Your new role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of key commercial responsibilities across a designated section of this major project. Operating with autonomy, you will:
- Lead commercial tasks and processes, exercising sound judgement within your area of responsibility.
- Work closely with the Project Manager or Commercial Manager on all commercial and contractual elements.
- Protect the organisation's commercial position through strong contractual, commercial, insurance and legal expertise.
- Build and maintain effective client relationships to support smooth commercial progression.
- Provide leadership, development and support to junior commercial team members.
- Apply strong commercial and technical knowledge to identify solutions that support delivery goals.
- Prepare and manage subcontract tender processes, evaluate returns, make recommendations and ensure accurate and timely placement of subcontracts.
What you'll need to succeed
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience working with NEC contracts.
- Background in large‑scale infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
- Professional membership such as RICS, ICES or CIOB (advantageous).
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to lead, mentor and drive commercial excellence.
- A valid right to work in the UK.
