We’re recruiting an experienced Deputy Head Veterinary Nurse to join a progressive, well-established veterinary nursing team within a modern small animal practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated RVN who enjoys leadership, thrives in a busy clinical environment, and is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care and client experience.
This role supports the Head Nurse in overseeing the day-to-day running of the nursing team, helping to drive clinical standards, efficiency, governance, and continuous improvement across the practice.

The RoleAs Deputy Head Nurse, you’ll play a key part in both hands-on nursing and team leadership, supporting colleagues while maintaining high clinical and customer service standards.
Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the Head Nurse with the organisation and smooth running of clinical activities

Leading by example on the floor with a varied and engaging caseload

Promoting best practice, patient safety, and clinical governance

Mentoring and supporting nurses, students, and support staff

Contributing to workflow efficiency, rotas, and continuous improvement initiatives

Delivering exceptional client communication and care
