An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Farm Veterinary Surgeon to join one of the UK’s largest independent, farm-only veterinary practices, supporting an expanding and progressive client base across Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire and parts of North Wales.

This role would suit an experienced farm vet who is passionate about high-quality farm animal practice and is looking to work with forward-thinking dairy, beef and sheep clients. The position offers a varied and rewarding caseload, with a strong emphasis on proactive dairy herd health, fertility management and data-driven decision making, alongside a well-supported on-call rota.

The successful candidate will join a large, supportive team of 20 Farm Veterinary Surgeons and 7 Veterinary Technicians/ATTs, benefiting from excellent clinical, technical and administrative support. Whether developing existing skills or looking to take the next step in their veterinary career, there is genuine flexibility to shape the role around individual interests and long-term progression.

The Role

• Farm Veterinary Surgeon working with dairy, beef and sheep clients
• Strong focus on proactive herd health, fertility and preventive medicine
• Data-led approach to farm performance and decision making
• Shared, well-supported on-call rota (2 vets on at a time)
• Single-site working with robust back-office support

The Candidate

• Experienced and motivated Farm Veterinary Surgeon (not open to new graduates)
• Positive, proactive approach to farm animal practice
• Strong communication and client relationship-building skills
• Commitment to high clinical and welfare standards
• Interest in ongoing learning, professional development and teamwork

The Package

• Competitive salary, dependent on experience
• Fully funded CPD, with support towards further qualifications
• 30 days holiday
• Company car provided (no accommodation)
• Supportive, progressive working environment within a large independent practice
• Excellent long-term career development opportunities

Rota & Work Pattern

• 5-day working week
• Weekends on a shared rota with time off in lieu
• Shared on-call rota with two vets on call at a time

This is an excellent opportunity for a Farm Vet seeking stability, progression and the chance to work within a well-resourced, independent farm-only practice serving some of the UK’s most progressive livestock farms.
