Summary

Laboratory Technician

Crediton (near Exeter) | £15 per hour | 12 Hour Shifts | Temporary | Immediate Start

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting Laboratory Technicians to support our client based in Crediton, near Exeter. You will be working as part of the operations team, carrying out microbiological and chemistry testing on food products within the production function, providing technical and quality control support to ensure high levels of product safety and legality in line with company standards.

Key Duties

  • Carry out daily sampling and testing alongside production.

  • Accurately record all test results.

  • Review retained reference samples and report on quality prior to release of finished products.

  • Ensure calibration, hygiene, and workplace organisation standards are maintained at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a product testing environment with knowledge of Quality Management Systems.

  • Experience in both microbiological and chemistry testing.

  • Previous experience working in a microbiology laboratory.

  • Knowledge and experience in pipetting techniques.

  • Knowledge and experience using Petrifilm testing or similar media.

  • Food Technology or Technical qualifications desirable.

  • Graduates in a relevant subject without significant on-the-job experience will be considered.

  • Educated to degree level, A-level, or equivalent.

  • Strong numeracy and written and verbal communication skills.

  • Own transport required due to location and shift times, or local to Crediton.

What We Offer

  • Pay rate of £15 per hour.

  • Overtime available.

  • 12-hour shifts, 6am-6pm.

  • Shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off.

  • Immediate start available.
