Grosvenor Hotel, Plymouth (The Hoe)
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Night Watchperson to join our team at the Grosvenor Hotel, a well-established Victorian hotel located on Plymouth Hoe.
This role suits someone with previous hospitality or hotel experience, ideally with some night work experience, who is confident working independently and maintaining a calm, professional presence overnight.
The Role
As Night Watchperson, you will be responsible for the safety, security and smooth running of the hotel during overnight hours. This is primarily a sleeping night role, with responsibility to respond if required.
Key responsibilities include:
Remaining on site overnight to ensure guest safety and hotel security
Responding professionally to guest needs if woken during the night
Managing any overnight issues calmly and efficiently
Carrying out basic overnight checks of the building
Acting as the main point of contact during night hours
Hours & Working Pattern
Minimum of 5 nights per week
Full flexibility required, including weekends and holidays
Fixed payment per night (rate to be confirmed)
National Minimum Wage paid for any time worked if woken during the night
Accommodation & Sleeping Arrangements
On-site accommodation may be available at a reduced rent, subject to availability and agreement
If on-site accommodation is not required, a dedicated staff sleeping area is available during night shifts
About You
Previous experience in hospitality or hotels is essential
Night shift or night porter experience preferred
Trustworthy, responsible and professional
Confident working alone and dealing with unexpected situations
Fully flexible and reliable
