Experienced Quality Manager? Or perhaps you are an AS9100 Lead Auditor or Quality Lead ready to take the next step?
If you’re currently leading audits, owning compliance, and influencing Quality — but want full ownership, leadership responsibility, and a seat at the table — this could be the move that accelerates your career.
This role offers a genuine step up into Quality Manager level within a respected aerospace precision engineering business, with the support, autonomy, and trust to make the function your own.

About the Business
This is a well-established aerospace manufacturer with over 40 years of successful delivery to major OEMs including Airbus, BAE Systems, and MBDA. The site operates to AS9100 and prides itself on right-first-time quality, strong customer relationships, and continuous improvement.
Quality is taken seriously here — not as a gatekeeper, but as a strategic enabler of performance and growth.

The Opportunity
As Quality Manager, you’ll take full accountability for site Quality, building on a solid foundation and shaping how Quality supports the business going forward.
You’ll move beyond audit ownership into true leadership — managing people, influencing strategy, and acting as the primary Quality interface for customers and regulators.
This is not a hands-on inspection role. Instead, it’s about leading systems, people, and performance.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
Acting as the site Quality authority, internally and externally
Leading and developing a team of 3 Inspectors
Owning AS9100 compliance, audits, and continuous system improvement
Leading internal and external audits (including customer and regulatory audits)
Driving robust root cause analysis, CAPAs, and systemic improvement
Owning and improving the FAIR process
Maintaining and developing the Integrated Management System (IMS)
Ensuring Quality processes, procedures, and documentation are effective and fit for purpose
Working closely with Production, Engineering, and Directors to influence decisions
Contributing to business strategy as part of the leadership team

Who This Role Is Ideal For
Essential Experience
AS9100 Lead Auditor or strong internal auditor experience
Currently operating as a Quality Lead, Senior Quality Engineer, or Deputy Quality Manager
Strong understanding of aerospace Quality systems and FAIR requirements
Confident leading audits, driving corrective actions, and engaging senior stakeholders
Able to interpret 2D & 3D engineering drawings
Experience using Quality tools within a manufacturing environment

The Person
Credible, confident, and calm under audit pressure
Naturally influential and comfortable challenging when needed
Proactive, improvement-focused mindset
Clear communicator across shop floor and leadership teams
Detail-driven but pragmatic — focused on what adds value

Team & Environment
Small, capable Quality team based in a controlled inspection environment
Close collaboration with Engineering, Production, and Directors
Supportive leadership that values Quality input

What You’ll Get
Competitive salary
25 days holiday + bank holidays
Discretionary 6-month bonus
Pension (5% employee / 3% employer)
EAP & wellbeing support
Perkbox benefits
Cycle to Work scheme
Costco membership
Flexible, people-focused culture
A clear pathway to establish yourself as a Quality Manager
