Summary
Capita is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Functional Analyst (Record to Report) to support the design and implementation of core finance accounting and reporting services for a strategic client transformation programme. This is a key role within a multi phase mobilisation, focused on delivering a robust, standardised and well controlled R2R service that underpins financial integrity, transparency and assurance.
Reporting to the Capita Finance & Procurement Functional Lead, you will play a leading role in shaping Capita's Record to Report service design, ensuring alignment between client accounting requirements, Capita's standard solution capabilities, and the wider Finance operating model. You will work closely with Finance SMEs, Functional Analysts, Service Designers and Technology teams to define scalable, compliant R2R processes that support consistent financial close and reporting across the organisation.
What you'll be doing:
• Lead and support the design of end‑to‑end Record to Report processes, including general ledger, journal processing, period‑end close, reconciliations, accruals, financial reporting and audit support.
• Contribute to the development of the Capita Service Blueprint and High‑Level Operating Model for Finance, ensuring R2R processes are standardised, clearly controlled and consistently applied across service recipients.
• Facilitate and contribute to client and SME workshops, capturing detailed accounting requirements.
• Translate requirements into clear process designs, functional specifications, SOPs and service artefacts, ensuring they support efficient close cycles and ongoing operational reporting.
• Work collaboratively with Service Design, Technology and Operations teams to ensure R2R processes align to Capita's standard ERP‑enabled solutions, minimising local variation and bespoke accounting approaches.
What we're looking for:
(Essential)
• Strong functional expertise in Record to Report, with hands‑on experience designing, implementing or operating R2R services within shared services, BPO or large‑scale finance transformation environments.
• Solid understanding of financial control, accounting standards, reconciliations, period‑end close and audit requirements, including operating within regulated or public‑sector contexts.
• Experience working in ERP‑enabled finance environments (e.g. Oracle‑based solutions), with a focus on standardised chart of accounts, journals, close and reporting processes.
• Proven ability to produce high‑quality process documentation, SOPs and functional artefacts that support testing, training and operational readiness.
Desirable:
• CIPFA qualification, with Government accounting experience
