We are seeking an organised and proactive ED Co-Ordinator to oversee and support the day-to-day operational activities within the Emergency Department.
This role is responsible for coordinating porters, cleaners, reception hosts, and security officers to ensure an efficient, safe, and high-quality environment for patients, visitors, and clinical teams.
Job Description
We are looking for someone with strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and experience managing workflows in a fast-paced setting.
You will use systems such as Portzo, Synapse, and ServicePoint to manage tasks and schedules effectively while ensuring compliance with safety, security, and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and supervise porters, cleaners, reception hosts, and security officers to ensure smooth daily operations.
Manage porter scheduling and workflows using Portzo and monitor tasks via Synapse and ServicePoint.
Liaise with the helpdesk to log, monitor, and resolve reactive tasks promptly.
Ensure all activities comply with safety, security, and service quality standards.
Work closely with clinical teams to align operational support with patient care requirements.
Carry out regular inspections to maintain cleanliness, safety, and service standards across the Emergency Department.
Support staff training, including customer service and security-related certifications.
Maintain clear, effective communication with staff and external contacts to support efficient ED operations.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Strong leadership and team management skills across multi-disciplinary support roles.
Knowledge of facilities management, ideally within a healthcare or emergency department setting.
Proficiency in systems such as Portzo, Synapse, and ServicePoint, or willingness to be trained.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and reactive requests.
Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
Awareness of health, safety, and security protocols in healthcare environments.
Customer-service focus, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and patient experience.
Valid SIA licence (essential) for managing security staff.
