There has never been a better time to join our (Skills for work and Community) Team!
Stoke on Trent College is an exciting and fast-growing place to be, and we are passionate about getting our learners Skills Ready; Future Ready.
Be part of an Ofsted ‘Good’ College with good financial health and contribute to our continuing progress. These are exciting times as we continue our journey to becoming the innovative, technical and professional College of choice.
Our success is built on ‘One Team’ - a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence, where every individual plays a key role in shaping the future of our students and our community.
Our success is through Our People!
This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, creative and adaptable practitioner who is passionate about community engagement, widening participation and supporting adults into learning, training and progression. The role is primarily focused on building relationships, developing partnerships and co-creating opportunities with communities, employers and local organisations.
You will have experience of community engagement, outreach or adult learning delivery, along with a strong understanding of the barriers faced by learners who are furthest from education, employment or training. A recognised teaching or training qualification, or a willingness to work towards one, is desirable but not essential.
As an enthusiastic and positive practitioner, you will bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work flexibly across community settings, and a proactive approach to engagement and problem-solving. Where appropriate, you will also support the planning and delivery of short, informal training or learning activities that respond to community and employer needs.
Your passion for community impact will be underpinned by experience of partnership working, outreach, referral pathways and progression support, ensuring learners are effectively supported into Skills for Work provision and onward opportunities.
If you are motivated by making a difference in communities and want to play a key role in strengthening local pathways into work and learning, we would be delighted to hear from you.
We offer a fantastic competitive reward package, including:
• Enhanced leave policies including 39 days annual leave plus bank holidays
• A range of Family Friendly policies, including opportunities for Hybrid working as relevant to role
• Christmas Closure
• Bright, modern facilities, buildings and learning resources
• A competitive pension scheme
• On-site restaurant facilities and free breakfasts (cooked breakfast or continental options)
• Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
• Access to Continuing Professional Development
• Health & Wellbeing initiatives and health-related benefits including individual health care plans
• Access to the College Sports Academy Gym
• Free on-site parking
