Summary

The Statutory Services Delivery Team (SSDT) sits within the Survey and Inspection Network, a part of UKTMS Directorate of the MCA, and its objective is to enable the Government’s Maritime Strategy for ‘Safer Ships, Cleaner Seas’, by ensuring high standards of marine safety and marine environmental protection through the delivery of high-quality Statutory Services and the implementation of consistent survey and inspection operations.

The Network’s function is to provide a first-class survey and inspection service undertaken by qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable surveyors, resulting in positive engagement with customers and stakeholders of the MCA’s maritime services. The Network is supported by local Business Delivery teams, which are responsible for facilitating survey/inspection, and plan approval allocation, and a National Business Unit which facilitates the Network’s financial transactions and provides budgetary oversight.
