Summary

As a People Partner in the Trade Remedies Authority (TRA), you will provide expert HR advice, strategic support and take the lead to deliver work, including, pay and reward, employee engagement, and policy development, ensuring that people initiatives and support are right for our specialist organisation.

You will be responsible for leading our advice and support service to resolve complex casework issues across the TRA. To be successful in this role you will need to show strong change management skills and the ability to bring people with you.

TRA established in 2021 so we are maturing as an organisation and there is still much to do. Being small, just shy of 200 people, this role isn't your standard People Partner as you'll be leading work delivery, trying new things and providing challenge so we get good outcomes.

This is a great role for an experienced HR generalist, providing the opportunity to consolidate experience to support wider people activities as needed. You will work closely with our senior leadership team and have a clear line of sight of how your work is having a tangible impact on the organisation.

Key Accountabilities

No two days will be the same but will include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of our Pay and Reward proposition, including managing the annual pay remit process and negotiation with the Trade Unions.
  • Overseeing a full review of our HR policies to ensure they meet the needs of our organisation, and are regularly updated to reflect latest best practice, process, and legislation changes.
  • Leading people engagement and communication activities, including our annual People Survey cycle, wellbeing initiatives and supporting our staff networks.
  • Building and managing strong effective relationships with TU colleagues and Staff Voice Forum representatives.
  • Ensuring delivery of high-quality HR services.
  • Overseeing the management of external service contracts such as Eden Red, UKSBS (our HR and admin), Government Recruitment Service, and employment law specialists.
  • Providing expert advice to resolve complex people cases.
  • Leading a small team.
