Summary

About the role

As the Store Trading Assistant Merchandiser, you\'ll be the Commercial & Stock Trading Specialist supporting our Store Trading Manager in delivering effective distribution strategies across the UK, ROI, and Central Europe. Focusing on our 50 Brand Stores, you’ll help maximise sales and profitability by identifying trading opportunities, optimising store stock levels, and making informed decisions using merchandising and distribution forecasts.

Working closely with Store Stock Planning, Space Planning, and Supply Chain teams, you’ll ensure the right products are in the right places at the right time. You’ll also lead the seasonal stock planning critical path, ensuring smooth execution aligned with key KPIs, events, and logistics patterns, supported by regular store visits and communication with Area Managers.

You will be responsible for

Supporting Stock planning and Merchandising Strategy for Brand Stores

  • Executing stock plans that align with brand identity and deliver a consistent customer experience across all locations

Optimizing Product Assortment & Space Planning

  • Ensuring optimal product mix and space utilization in Brand Stores to maximize sales and profitability.

Driving Launch & Seasonal Planning

  • Coordinating actions for new product launches and seasonal transitions, ensuring timely execution and alignment with marketing campaigns.

Business Analytics & Performance Insights

  • Utilizing data analytics to monitor sales trends, stock performance, and customer behaviour; provide actionable insights to improve store performance.

Forecasting & Demand Planning

  • Collaborating with Supply Chain and SSP teams to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory availability for Brand Stores.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Working closely with the field Retail Area Managers, Buying, Marketing, and Operations teams to deliver cohesive brand strategies and promotional activities.

KPI Management & Reporting

  • Tracking and report on key performance indicators (sales, margin, cover, space density, availability) to inform decision-making.

Customer-Centric Merchandising

  • Ensuring store space matrices and product presentation enhances customer experience and drives engagement with the brand.

You will need

Operational skills relevant for this job:

Inventory Management : Ability to Monitor, Control and Optimize stock levels across multiple markets.

Demand Planning and Forecasting : Using historical data, trends, and predictive analytics to plan stock requirements accurately.

Data Analysis and Reporting : Interpreting sales, stock, and performance data to inform decisions and strategies.

Stock Allocation & Replenishment : Ensuring correct product placement and timely replenishment to meet customer demand.

Excellent team player, with strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across departments.


Experience relevant for this job:

Learning Agility: Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new operational and technical skills, with proven experience adapting to new systems and processes.

Stock Planning Expertise: Strong background in store stock planning, with deep understanding of managing complex inventory across multiple locations.

Relevant Experience: Previous experience in Branch Merchandising, Business Analytics, Allocation, or in-store stock management.

Analytical Capability: Highly technical and data-driven mindset, skilled in creating, interpreting, and leveraging data to make informed decisions.

Commercial Acumen: Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, effectively balancing multiple priorities.

Communication & Influence: Exceptional ability to communicate insights clearly, influence stakeholders, and align cross-functional teams through data-driven recommendations.
