Job Title: CNC Turner - Setter/Operator
Location: Bilston
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Hours: Double Day Shifts:
Monday-Thursday: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm
Friday: 6am-11am / 11am-4pm
Salary: Up to £17.00 per hour ( £20 per hour including shift allowance)
Position Summary
We are seeking experienced CNC Turners – Setter/Operators to join a precision engineering team. This hands-on role involves setting and operating Mazak CNC machines with Mazatrol controls, making program modifications as needed, and producing high-precision components for industries such as defence and aviation.
Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate Mazak CNC turning machines.
• Adjust offsets, change inserts, and perform tooling changes as required.
• Make modifications to programs to ensure components are produced to specification.
• Use driven tools and inspection equipment to verify quality and precision.
• Produce components for high-precision industries including defence and aviation.
• Maintain clean, organised work areas and follow health and safety procedures.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support production targets and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
• Previous experience setting and operating Mazak CNC machines.
• Familiarity with Mazatrol controls and basic program modification.
• Skilled in offset adjustments, tooling changes, and use of inspection equipment.
• Experience manufacturing components for defence or aviation industries preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, quality, and consistency.
• Reliable, proactive, and a good team player.
Hours & Shift Pattern
• Preferably willing to work Double Day Shifts:
• Monday–Thursday: 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm
• Friday: 6am–11am / 11am–4pm
Remuneration & Benefits
• Hourly rate: £17 per hour, depending on skill and experience.
• Shift allowance: Additional 15% for applicable shifts.
• Overtime available:
• First 5 hours at x1.5
• Next 3 hours at x1.75
• Additional overtime at x2
