Technical Building Surveyor (Fixed-Term Contract )
Faithorn Farrell Timms is seeking an experienced Technical Building Surveyor to support a key project for one of our prestigious clients. This is a fixed-term contract for a minimum of 10 months.
You must have access to a car and be able to drive.

The Role
As a Technical Building Surveyor, you will join our welcoming and knowledgeable team based in Orpington. This role is ideal for someone with solid experience in building surveying who is confident working independently and able to deliver high‑quality survey work with minimal supervision.
What You’ll Do
Undertake stock condition surveys across London and the Home Counties (primary focus for the first 6 months)
Conduct building inspections, assess defects, and provide technical recommendations
Prepare clear and accurate reports, schedules, and specifications
Work independently, often undertaking lone working and travel throughout the region
Liaise with internal teams and clients to support project delivery
Apply established building surveying knowledge without requiring graduate‑level training
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in building surveying, property inspection, or a similar technical role
A relevant qualification (e.g., degree, HNC/HND, or substantial practical experience)
Strong understanding of buildings, construction methods, and defect diagnosis
Confident working autonomously and managing your own workload
Excellent written reporting and communication skills
Strong IT proficiency
Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
